Ben’s stats are impressive, his best experiences and performances remain well and truly in front of him as he rises through the contracted umpire list.
Ben has remained totally dedicated to umpiring premier cricket, even as a CA contracted umpire. This season he has stood in nine first grade matches and two T20 Cup matches in between his CA umpiring appointments, remarkable commitment. Ben sees the benefit to umpiring premier cricket, appreciates where he has come from and looks to give back to the competition that provided him opportunities and great experiences as an emerging umpire. His attitude and loyalty to premier cricket are first-class.
Ben was made a Principal member of NSWCUSA in 2022 recognising his outstanding service and commitment to cricket and to the Association on and off the field. He joined CNSW Umpire Educator in 2019. He is a gifted educator, highlighted by his willingness to share experience (including what he has learnt from his mistakes), his attention to detail, his knowledge and application of Laws and playing conditions, and his exceptional humility. Ben’s work as Umpire Educator has supported so many and helped them thrive. He possesses an excellent work ethic and is so genuine about wanting to help others. Ben always acts for the good of the team and has been an outstanding colleague.
Congratulations are offered to Ben on achieving this significant umpiring milestone in his career, we wish him the very best for an enjoyable and successful match at Cricket Central in the First Grade Final between Eastern Suburbs and Manly Warringah, commencing tomorrow.
