Umpire Claire Polosak will reach a significant career milestone today when she stands in her 50th Women’s One Day International, between Australia and India at Bellerive Oval, Hobart. This great achievement reflects both Claire’s commitment to personal excellence since her WODI debut in 2016 and the continued evolution of officiating in world cricket. She becomes the first Australian umpire to reach a half-century of WODIs.
Claire’s journey through umpiring has been marked by a series of historic achievements, with a clear highlight being her selection as an on-field umpire for the 2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Final in Dubai - a landmark appointment and fitting recognition of her status among the world’s leading officials.
Reaching 50 WODIs is recognition of years of dedication, resilience, and leadership within the umpiring community. Claire’s career has helped inspire a new generation of officials, showing that pathways in cricket officiating are expanding and that excellence knows no barriers. She has also acted as TV umpire in 18 WODIs.
Claire will be partnered on field by Shawn Craig, with New Zealand’s Kim Cotton the 3rd official. The match will be broadcast on 7 and Foxtel and streamed live on Kayo Sports, commencing 2:50pm AEDT.
We offer warm congratulations to Claire ahead of her milestone match and wish her well for the fixture.
