It is an outstanding opportunity for Ben to experience first-class cricket in one of the world's great cricketing nations and further build on an already exceptional umpiring career.
Ben has now umpired 29 first-class matches in Australia, including 28 Sheffield Shield fixtures, as well as the four-day first-class match between Australia A and India A in Mackay in 2024.
His career also includes:
🏏 9 Women’s Internationals

🏆 6 consecutive Belvidere Cup Finals
And 2026 has been a particularly remarkable year for Ben.

🏅 Elected a Life Member of the NSW Cricket Umpires’ and Scorers’ Association
🏅 Selected for the CA–BCCI Umpire Exchange
Beyond the statistics and appointments, Ben's contribution to umpiring extends well beyond the field.
He is widely respected for his attitude, work ethic and commitment to continuous improvement. His preparation is meticulous, his knowledge of the Laws of Cricket and competition playing conditions is exceptional, and he has made a significant contribution to umpire education and development.
Ben has also consistently invested his time and experience in others, mentoring fellow officials, building relationships across the cricket and umpiring communities, and developing innovative education and training resources for NSWCUSA members and affiliated associations.
His commitment to Premier Cricket has been equally exemplary. Ben genuinely values the competition, remains heavily involved in it and continues to look for opportunities to give back to the cricket community that has played such an important role in his own development.
Congratulations, Ben, on this thoroughly deserved opportunity.
